Scouring Burn

Restoration Project – The Scouring Burn is a tributary of the river Alan. The project aims to increase fish and fisheries production from the Scouring Burn through opening up habitat that is currently inaccessible due to the presence of a man-made obstruction to fish migration.

Phase one and two of the project to which this report relates is now complete. The proposed further phases of the project are set out below.

i) Base-Line Survey Work was carried out in Autumn 2010 and late spring 2011 and is now complete.

ii) Engineering/Scoping Surveys were carried out by John Webb in Winter 2010/11

Our thanks go to the sponsors of this project, the Scottish Government, Stirling Council and RAFTS and the volunteers from the Allan Water Improvement Association.
