Modern Apprentice

Modern Apprentice in Fisheries Management – We in partnership with Stirling Council, are training a “Modern Apprentice” in fisheries management over two years to SVQ level 2. This has been run through Barony College, (the salary funded by Stirling Council).

Stirling Council has provided office accommodation and associated support costs and the RFFT has provided mentoring over the lifetime of the project through the Trust’s Biologist and a contribution to support costs. The apprentice has a desk next to the biologist and has regularly accompanied her on field work. In addition, the apprentice has been trained in bailiffing, habit surveying and electro-fishing. This partnership project has built capacity within the Forth’s fisheries management set up.

Our thanks go to the sponsors of this project, the Scottish Government, RAFTS and Stirling Council.
