Genetics study competition winners named

The Trust would like to thank all anglers who contributed to our genetics study over the past two years. At the Forth District Salmon Fishery Board annual meeting we had a draw to find out who was the lucky angler to win the bottle of Macallan whisky and the £50 Angling Active voucher.

Due to circumstances, we decided to split the prize as there was one angler who had managed to collect a massive 32 samples from himself and other anglers who had not submitted their names. George Macintosh, an angler on the River Allan drummed up support on the river and caught a fair few himself so we decided to offer him first choice of prize and he chose the £50 voucher. The draw took place to decide who would win the bottle of whisky and this was won by Iain Halliday, an angler who caught his salmon on the River Teith at Cambusmore. Well done both for being the lucky winners.

The Trust and Board would like to thank all who participated this year and we will be distributing more sample tubes to proprietors and clubs to hand out in 2017 and similar incentives will be provided.
