The River Forth Fisheries Trust was formed in 2009 and is operated as a Registered Charity (SC040311). The aim of the Trust is to advance the study of and research into Salmon and other fish species within the Forth District. The Trust’s work plays a vital part in informing the Board of developments within the districts rivers and helps determine the Board’s approach to fishery management.

The Trust is involved in a wide range of fishery activities including electro-fishing surveys, fish counter operation, catch data analysis, evidence based management and habitat management.
The Director of the Trust is Patrick Fothringham, who also holds the position of Director for the Forth District Salmon Fishery Board.
