Another cracking beat on the River Teith being promoted next. Cambusmore Fishings comprise of just under 4 miles on the north bank and 2.5 miles on the south bank and are divided into four beats which are generally fished in rotation. The river flows through a mixture of ancient regenerated woodland and open countryside providing picturesque views to Ben Ledi and the Trossachs.
There is a wide variety of streams, glides and pools which are perfect for fly fishing. Salmon can be caught at Cambusmore in most conditions and like many other rivers and beats, it fishes best when a flood is running off. When the water height stabilises at one foot above summer level, fish will settle in the pools and it is common for sea licers to be caught throughout the season. Spring and autumn offer the best chance but if we have a wet summer, the fly fishing can be excellent using a floating line with small flies.
Sea Trout also run the river and they can provide good sport throughout the summer months.
There are fishing huts on each beat and generous car parking available to permit holders and a ghillie can be arranged with prior notice.
A range of permits are available which include seasonal and day permits.
Seasonal rods start at £273.00 and day rods are £60 between Feb – Aug and £120 between Sept & Oct.
